Built in 1888 by beer baron Gottfried Krueger and purchased by Newark's first African-American female millionaire Madame Louise Scott in 1958, the Krueger-Scott Mansion has laid vacant since 1982.

Makerhoods is rehabilitating the beloved historic mansion and reinvigorating the previous owners' entrepreneurial spirit through co-working, office space, event space, workshops, and community-centric events. The Mansion will highlight its rich history with the City of Newark, while supporting Black & underrepresented entrepreneurs.

The rehabilitation includes:

  • Co-Working

  • Private Office Space

  • Art Exhibits

  • Event Space

  • Entrepreneurship Classes, Meetups, and Events

  • History Installations & Programming
